The Vocal Arts Ensemble of San Luis Obispo will present a smaller scale “mini-festival” in July 2013, with just three choirs performing without a competition element. Organizers plan to hold a full scale festival and competition in early July of 2016. For tickets to the mini-festival, please visit www.vocalarts.org
Beginning in 2009, it became more and more difficult for the international choirs to get the funding and U.S. visas necessary for their participation in the Festivals. We believe the decline of the world economy and stricter guidelines from U.S. embassies contributed to this problem.
Judging from audience attendance and response to our past Festivals, we firmly believe that this event has a viable place in our community and state. We pledge to make every effort to see that once again people from all over the world will come and share their songs and culture so that you can be part of this magical and inspiring event.
